I have been involved in education for over 30 years and have been fortunate to live and study around the world, including Hawaii and England.
In my early days, I was certified in early childhood and held positions as daycare senior staff and afternoon supervisor, as well as running my own family daycare. I was contracted by the US military chapel system as a music director and soloist for 20 years, frequently working with Hispanic communities on bilingual programs and presentations.
I have a BS in music education (vocal performance), studying classical voice with Marilyn Liu Kim, University of Hawaii, and Louise Urban, University of Maryland. I also studied vocal jazz improvisation with Ronnie Wells and taught private voice, piano, and guitar for 10 years. I have an MS in Special Education and spent 15 years as a music teacher in Howard County, specializing in the development and instruction of music inclusion classes for preschool through middle school grade levels, adapting the World Drumming Curriculum for students of all ability levels.
I have worked collaboratively with many resources in the county to build our collection of instruments in the music room, and cannot wait to share them with the students.
