Hello! My name is Tiffany Rothermel, and I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the CCM community. This summer I will be traveling to Cincinnati to formally begin my Montessori training. Before joining CCM, I taught 5th grade and 8th grade U.S. History in a small, local private school whose emphasis was educating the whole child through hands-on, experiential learning. Through my teaching experience I have learned that imparting knowledge to students is secondary to the relationships you build with them.
I grew up right here in Frederick County in the Middletown community, attending Frederick County Public Schools K-12. I earned a B.A. in Political Science from UMBC. This educational experience led me to a Congressional internship and jobs with the Maryland General Assembly and a prominent Annapolis lobbyist. Later, I returned to school and earned a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University. I am currently certified to teach language arts and social studies for grades 7-12.
My husband, two children and I returned to the Middletown area twelve years ago. My son currently attends Middletown High and my daughter attends Middletown Middle. When we are all together as a family we enjoy riding bikes, hiking, taking our dog for walks in the park, and eating ice cream!
