I came into Montessori after teaching 10 years in traditional public schools and becoming frustrated with mainstream education. I attended Montessori during preschool and Kindergarten and remembered loving learning, so I jumped at the opportunity to transition into Montessori education. I taught 1 year in lower el, but my heart knew that primary was my calling. I received my Montessori certification for Primary from the Center for Guided Montessori Studies and continue to learn through online networking groups, keeping in contact with my former professors and mentors, as well as reading books and articles relating to the 3-6 age group and Montessori. I feel so strongly about this approach to education that my three children also attend CCM!
I live in Frederick County with my husband, our three children, and our 2 cats. As a family we enjoy camping and raising our chickens. If we could camp every weekend we would because we enjoy disconnecting from the fast paced world we live in and spending time with nature.
