Admission to Carroll Creek Montessori Public Charter School (CCMPCS) is determined from the results of a lottery. As a public charter school, CCMPCS is free and open to all residents of Frederick County, ages 3 through 8th grade.
The lottery is currently closed! Lottery results for the 2024-2025 school year for grades PK3 – 8th grade will be announced on April 8th.
After the lottery, 2024-2025 applications will continue to be accepted through December 2024. Applications received after the March lottery are placed at the end of the waitlist in the order they are received.
MMCI (the nonprofit organization that holds the charter for CCMPCS) is responsible for running the lottery for both CCMPCS and MVMPCS. MMCI uses an online application form for children who wish to enter the lottery for either CCMPCS or MVMPCS.
CCMPCS offers a no-fee Primary Program for three-year-old and four-year-old PreK students and kindergarteners together in the same classroom. Your child must be three by September 1st to enter the three-year-old program, four by September 1st to enter the four-year-old program, and five by September 1st to enter Kindergarten. Pre-K students must be toilet trained and able to use the toilet independently. Diapers and pull-ups are not permitted.
The three-year-old PreK program hours are:
9:00am to 11:20am, Monday through Friday.
CCM used Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) funding to expand the four-year-old PreK program to a full-day program beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.
2022-2023 and 2023-2024 four-year-old students attend the same hours as K-8 students:
9:00am-3:45pm Monday through Thursday
9:00am-2:45pm on Fridays.
Active involvement of parents and adults is at the heart of the charter school philosophy and is necessary for the successful operation of our school. We ask parents in each family to volunteer a minimum of 30 hours a year (10 hours for families with one adult in the household).
Enrollment forms and other required registration paperwork are only needed from students who are enrolled at CCMPCS. Please DO NOT submit additional paperwork until your child has been offered a spot at the school and you have been sent instructions about the additional paperwork required to complete the enrollment process. This paperwork may include:
- an FCPS enrollment form
- an immunization form and a record of physical examination
- proof of residency (i.e. current utility bill)
- proof of birth for each child
- Request of records from your child’s current school if your child is a current FCPS student transferring from another school
